Convert JSON to JSONL (JSON Lines) in your browser. Turn a JSON array into one JSON value per line, ready for streaming, logging, and big-data pipelines. Copy or download the result without uploading your data.
Each element of a JSON array becomes its own line. A single object or value becomes a single line. The result is valid JSON Lines.
JSON Lines is the format used by many log systems and data pipelines because each line is an independent, parseable record.
The input is parsed as JSON first. Invalid JSON produces an error instead of producing a broken JSONL file.
Copy the JSON Lines to your clipboard or download it as a .jsonl file for use in storage, streams, or processing jobs.
Parsing and conversion happen in your browser. The page does not require an account or upload your JSON to a remote service.
Paste a JSON array or a single JSON value into the input. An array produces one line per element.
Click Convert to JSONL. The tool parses the input and writes one JSON value per line.
Copy the JSON Lines or download it as a .jsonl file. Each line is an independent record you can stream or parse line by line.
Convert a JSON array of records into one JSON value per line.
[
{ "id": 1, "name": "Alice" },
{ "id": 2, "name": "Bob" }
]A JSON array where each element is one record.
{ "id": 1, "name": "Alice" }
{ "id": 2, "name": "Bob" }Each array element becomes a single line containing one JSON object. The output is valid JSON Lines (also called NDJSON).
JSON Lines and NDJSON mean the same format: one JSON value per line.
JSONL, also called JSON Lines or NDJSON, stores data as one JSON value per line. A JSON to NDJSON conversion puts each record on its own line; this NDJSON converter produces output that works under both names. Each line is a complete, independent record, which makes the format easy to stream, append to logs, or process line by line.
A standard JSON array keeps all records inside one pair of brackets. JSONL puts each record on its own line. JSONL is better when you need to stream or append; a single JSON array is better when you need the whole collection as one object.
Conversion runs entirely in your browser. Your JSON is not uploaded and no account is required. Do not paste passwords, tokens, or production credentials into any online tool.
